I asked for prayers for John last week and now he has died pray that he may rest in peace. We had his funeral here yesterday, Thursday.
Life goes in the parish. I came back from the funeral to be called out to the hospice where I Anointed and gave Holy Communion to a parishioner.
Earlier in the week I went to a Serra meeting. Serra is an organisation that supports and prays for vocations to priesthood. They are very supportive and have Holy hours of prayer every month at the Don Orione Centre nr Upholland and are keen to support promotion and prayer for priesthood.
Our parish school had an open day on Wednesday and while I was there the new computer for the parish which I was waiting for arrived at school not the parish. Good job I was there so I put it in my car and brought it back. It is now up and running thanks to John the seminarian who is staying here. He has just had a guided retreat at Loyola Hall, the Jesuit centre nr Liverpool and is now back in the parish.
Last Sunday we had a unity service at the local C of E church to mark unity week. We do a lot of things together through the year which is good and is a sign of our working together where we can.
