Low Bank Ground, Jan 2007...
Become a priest and you could do this as well!
The kids had a great time at Low bank Ground. They where there Monday to Friday and I went up on the Wednesday for the day with John the seminarian who is staying here in the parish. He took the easy option of a walk with another group while I braved the cold waters of Lake Coniston with the some potential olympic rowers, canoeists and kayakers.
Priesthood as you see is far from boring.
Since then I have had a few days away in Lytham and before I knew it the season of Lent was upon us. On Ash Wednesday the priests of the diocese where invited to a service with the Archbishop where we received the ashes to begin our personal Lenten journey, with words of encouragement. It was a good ocassion and one which reminds us that while we might sometimes feel we are on our own in parishes we still belong to a community of Priests who share the same vision of service to God and the Church as diocesan priests.
If it has ever crossed your mind to become a priest then follow it up, you never know you too could end up in a canoe on Lake Coniston.
If you are interested get in touch through the website and if you want to be a priest in Liverpool Archdiocese then get in touch with me.
God bless
Fr Steve
